    Flores, Indonesia- The most incredible locations to visit

    Flores, Indonesia, is a group of paradise-like islands that you have to add to your bucket list, if you haven’t already! Flores is best known for incredible diving conditions, vibrant coral reefs, pristine beaches surrounded by turquoise waters as well as the incredible flora and fauna diversity. When taking a cruise to some of the islands in Flores, you feel like you walked into a Jurassic Park scene. With the dramatic landscapes and unique species, it is impossible to compare it to any other place in the world. Although there are many jaw-dropping locations to visit within Flores, these islands are not to be missed when you’re planning your dream adventure!

    1. RINCA ISLAND

    Rinca Island is a place where you can encounter the Komodo dragon in its natural habitat. This island is perfect for hiking and wildlife spotting and serves some of the most spectacular and tranquil views. Within a short walking distance you will be able to see the large and small lizards and your guide will tell you everything about their nature and will make sure you’re safe while encountering these special creatures.

    1. PALAU PADAR

    This island is known for landscapes similar to these in Jurassic Park. Padar Island is one of the best spots for hiking and sunset watching. The treks are relatively easy, and the selection is huge! Although it is a good idea to spend a day on this beautiful island, make sure you wait to see it at sunset.  The panoramic views of its dramatic coastline, sun-drenched hills and sea are not to be missed! 

    The island is surrounded by a beautiful lagoon and calm turquoise waters, which makes Padar a perfect place to swim and snorkel. This unique place is blessed with quite a few beaches, some of which are pink, white and black.

    1. PANTAI MERAH (Pink Beach)

    As the name indicates, the sand on this beach is pink. This phenomenon occurs due to the red coral pieces being washed to the shore and blended with the white sand. There are only a few other pink sand beaches around the world, so make sure you add this one to your must-visit list! The Pink Beach is also a great snorkeling spot as it’s surrounded by incredible coral-reefs and calm turquoise waters which creates perfect snorkelling conditions for beginners and advanced divers.

    1. TAKA MAKASSAR

    Also known as Banana Island, this gem is an ultimate tropical paradise escape. The sandbank is surrounded by the clearest turquoise waters and incredible coral reefs. When you look at the pictures of Taka Makassar, it is hardly possible to distinguish this location from heavenly Maldives or Tahiti.

    1. KELOR ISLAND

    Kelor Island is one of the most beautiful gems to explore when cruising around Komodo National Park. Although small, this island is synonymous to a tropical paradise. Take your trekking shoes with you, climb to the hilltop and indulge in the most spectacular views.

    1. LE PIRATE ISLAND

    If you’re looking for a stylish, chilled and picturesque spot for an island escape near Komodo, Le Pirate Island is your best bet. Stop here for lunch, snorkelling, canoeing, hiking or all the other in-house planned activities. Although it’s a private property of Le Pirate tour operator, travellers stop here to hang out for a few hours. If you’re travelling with Le Pirate Explorer group, you will get to experience a night on this island. Sleeping in an open beach hut and waking up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore is truly incredible to experience.
