1. LANIKAI BEACH

To say that Lanikai Beach is one of the most beautiful in Hawaii is an understatement. It is surely one of the world’s leading nature wonders. The beach is flooded by tranquil turquoise waters and surrounded by a long stretch of glistening white sand. As the words lani kai translate to heavenly ocean, you may already have a picture of what this dream location is in real life. In fact, its translation is very literal. 

To experience this beautiful place at sunrise, wake up early and take a 30 minute Lanikai Pillbox Hike for the best panoramic views. 

2. BANZAI PIPELINE

Located in Oahu’s North Shore, the famous Banzai Pipeline proudly holds the title of the surfing universe. Even if you’ve never touched a surfboard before- watching the pro wave-riders taking over the legendary barrels is a whole experience itself. 

3. KAILUA BEACH PARK

Located approximately one mile up the road from iconic Lanikai Beach, Kailua Beach Park is often described as one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Hawaii. This two and a half mile long stretch of white sands and breathtakingly blue waters offers numerous water activities such as snorkeling, windsurfing, sailing, swimming and diving. The selling point for visiting Kailua Beach is that it’s usually pretty empty during weekdays so it’s easy to find a secluded spot for a day. 

4. WAIKIKI BEACH

One of the most iconic Hawaiian beaches, Waikiki, is nestled on the southern coasts and it sees over million visitors each year thanks to its beautiful waters and jaw-dropping views  of Diamond Head.

Waikiki is a stretch of several beaches including Waikiki Beach fronting the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Fort DeRussy Beach, Kuhio Beach, and Queen Surf Beach. Waikiki Beach itself is an incredible spot for snorkeling, swimming, surfing lessons and simply soaking up the Hawaiian sunshine.

5. WAIMEA BAY

Waimea Bay is well known for its impressive 25-feet waves that attract surfers from April until October. The surfing conditions are the reason for Vans Triple Crown Surfing competition being held here on Waimea Bay each year.

Waimea Bay is nestled on the windy North shores of Oahu and appears as a perfect place for unwinding in the Sun. If you are travelling here during summer months, the condition will be perfect for swimming and scuba diving. Nevertheless, if you’re planning a winter trip, bear in mind that the conditions will be difficult and only suitable for experienced surfers.

6. POKAI BAY

Pokai Bay really stands out with its calm waters and perfect snorkelling conditions. If you are looking for a beach where you can swim, snorkel, and enjoy a quiet family beach day, head to Pokai Bay’s secluded shoreline.
