    ABOUT ANSE COCOS BEACH

Anse Cocos is a picturesque and secluded beach which can be found in the east of La Digue, just along the coast from Petite Anse. With it’s mesmerizing golden sands, shallow emerald water pools and irregular boulders, Anse Cocos is synonymous to a perfect day beach escape. As there are hardly any visitors here throughout the day, the chances for you to have Anse Cocos all to yourself are high.

Anse Cocos was one of the very first settlements on the island, and the beach used to be a centre of copra production. When strolling around the beach you can still see the abandoned buildings and sheds.

HOW TO GET TO ANSE COCOS

First of all, you need to reach La Digue island in order to explore the beauty of Anse Source D’Argent. As the only international airport in the Seychelles is located on the main island- Mahè, you will need to take a ferry from Mahè to La Digue. The journey lasts about 1,5 hours, takes stops at some other scenic islands and guarantees the world’s class views all along the way.

After the arrival in La Digue, drop your luggage at your chosen guesthouse, grab a bike and take a ride through the paths surrounded by the palm tree forests. If you follow the main path and head East, you will be able to see the signs navigating you to the location.

THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ANSE COCOS

In general, the best times to visit Seychelles are April, May, October and November. These months are transitions between the hot and humid northwest winds, which blow from November until March, and the cooler southeast winds that hit Seychelles from April through October. The wettest months are January and February.

The best times of the day to visit Anse Source D’Argent are early mornings and late afternoons, right before the sunset. When you arrive at the beach at early hours, the possibility of having the entire place to yourself is high. Sunsets tend to be busier than early hours due to incredible views of the sky reflecting oranges and purples in the water surface.  For this reason, Anse Source D’Argent is also considered as the best sunset-watching spot on the island.

    SAFETY AT ANSE COCOS

The shallow waters and natural pools of Anse Cocos are guarded from an open sea which makes its waters calm and swim-friendly. If you, however, think of swimming beyond the pools, make sure to evaluate the weather condition and check the currents as these can be dangerous around La Digue.
