Grace’s Malone to announce destination on Monday

WINONA LAKE, Ind. (WANE) – The reigning NAIA National Player of the Year will announced where he’ll play his final season of college basketball this coming Monday morning, as Grace College big man Elijah Malone has scheduled a press conference to reveal his decision.

The press conference will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.

A six-foot-ten post player, Malone has drawn interest from over 30 Power Five schools since entering the transfer portal. He recently took visits to Indiana, Notre Dame, Boise State, and Colorado.

Malone scored over 1,900 points and snagged over 1,000 rebounds during his career at Grace, leading the Lancers to the NAIA Final Four this past season. He was named the Bevo Francis Award Winner for the 2023-24 season as the top player in small college basketball.

A Prairie Heights High School graduate, Malone averaged 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.5 blocked shots an 1.9 assists per game while playing 24.5 minutes per game this past season. He shot 37 percent from 3-point range.
