Leo softball tops Vikings to claim NE8 lead

LEO, Ind. (WANE) – First place in the NE8 was on the line Monday night at Leo High School and the Lions delivered in a 7-1 victory over Huntington North.

Leo pitcher Mackenzie Arroyo struck out 12 while allowing just one unearned run on two hits in a complete game for the Lions.

Leo improves to 17-4 overall and 5-0 in NE8 play. The Lions play on Wednesday at Columbia City.

Huntington North falls to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in NE8 action before hosting Logansport on Tuesday.

Next up, Huntington North (12-3 overall, 4-0 NE8 coming in) hosts Logansport on Tuesday.
