EVANSTON, Ill. (WANE) – Leo High School grad Ashley Miller is the best in the Big Ten when it comes to toeing the rubber, as the Northwestern ace was tabbed the conference’s “Pitcher of the Year” on Wednesday.

Miller, who played her first three seasons of college softball at Michigan State before transferring to Northwestern this past off-season, led all Big Ten pitchers with a 1.34 ERA, ranking her 12th in the country. She was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week four times this season.

Miller ended the regular season with a 17-4 record, 4 saves, and 165 strikeouts in 151.1 innings.
