Trine no-hits Westminster to open regional play

ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) – Trine’s Debbie Hill and Lauren Clausen combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the defending DIII National Champs defeated Westminster (Pa.) 9-0 on Thursday to open 2024 regional play in Angola.

Hill struck out five in four innings of work while Clausen worked the fifth inning to secure the win.

Tyra Marcum went 1-for-1 with a 2-run double and a sacrifice fly for 3 RBI while Macy Rocha was 2-for-2 with 3 RBI to pace the Trine offense.

Trine will play Mount Union, who beat Wisconsin-Stevens Point 9-0 on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. Friday.
