Fort Wayne FC rallies late in season-opening win over Dayton Dutch Lions

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Tied 1-1 late in the second half, Fort Wayne FC scored twice to take a 3-1 win over the Dayton Dutch Lions in Saturday’s season opener at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium.

Aleksander Mihov scored a goal within the opening minutes to put Fort Wayne ahead, 1-0, at halftime.

Dayton equalized the match in the 60th minute. With Fort Wayne threatening several times in the second half, Ethan Giwa-McNeil buried a second chance opportunity on a corner kick in the 77th minute.

Mikey Ketteman added an insurance goal in stoppage time to lock up a season opening win for Fort Wayne.

Fort Wayne FC visits Kings Hammer on Wednesday in their first road match of the season.
