FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Decades after dominating with the Hoosiers and the NBA, former IU standout Ray Tolbert is paying it forward for a good cause next month in Fort Wayne.

Tolbert is teaming up with Fort Wayne native and former Boilermaker basketball standout Walter Jordan for June’s “Hoops & Standards Camp.”

A native of Anderson, Tolbert was named Mr. Basketball and a McDonald’s All-American in 1977 before suiting up with the Hoosiers. During his college basketball career, Tolbert won a national championship with Bob Knight in 1981 while also being named the Big Ten Player of the Year.

Despite playing on rival teams during their college careers, Jordan and Tolbert connected at a young age and stayed in touch over the years. Tolbert looks forward to helping out his longtime friend and sharing his experience with basketball and life for kids during June’s “Hoops & Standards” camp.
