FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Local artists have the opportunity to display their work at the Allen County Public Library through the exhibit Past to Present: Abstract Art in Northern Indiana.

Visitors are able to walk into the Jeffrey R. Krull gallery during library hours and admire over 50 different sculptures, wood carvings and paintings free of charge.

Past to Present runs from August 10 to September 28

Justin Johnson is the gallery coordinator for the University of Saint Francis. He helped organize the exhibit, which includes many historical pieces from the university’s collection.

Johnson said the collection’s range invites everyone to enjoy the art.

“People are always receptive to color, texture, shapes and these works are very intuitive,” Johnson said. “For children and adults… there’s something [at the exhibit] for everyone.”
