ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) – Mike Avery has helped Fort Wayne FC grow into a summer staple in the Summit City. Now the head coach is getting a new job title in northeast Indiana.

On Thursday, Trine announced that Avery will take over as the Thunder’s interim head coach for the men’s soccer program. Avery has previous college experience leading Valparaiso for 13 seasons, along with assistant jobs at Louisville, Notre Dame and San Diego State.

In four years as Fort Wayne FC’s head coach, Avery has led the program to back-to-back USL League 2 Valley Division titles and the program’s first playoff win this past summer.
