NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (WANE) – With the bulk of college football season about to return, Manchester is looking to take a step forward in year two of the Vann Hunt era this fall.

Hunt’s energetic persona hopes to inspire a new era of success with the Spartans. However, last year saw plenty of growing pains with Manchester going 1-9. Their lone win was in their season finale against Anderson.

With a full offseason of work, Manchester hopes to continue laying the foundation for a winning culture. The Spartans feature a few local standouts, including Norwell grad Blake Haiflich at linebacker and recent Homestead grad Xander Swihart at defensive end.

Ahead of the season, Manchester was picked to finish sixth out of the 7-team HCAC in the conference’s preseason poll.

Manchester kicks off their season on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Westminster College (Mo.).
