PEORIA, Ill. (WANE) – The TinCaps snapped their longest losing streak of the season in a 3-2 win at Peoria on Saturday night. Fort Wayne’s win ends a nine-game skid that began over a week ago in a home stand against Dayton.

Despite trailing early, 1-0, the TinCaps answered with a pair of runs in the fifth inning. Wyatt Hoffman and Kai Murphy each drove in a run to give the TinCaps a 2-1 lead. Devin Ortiz added the eventual game-winning run on a RBI single in the seventh inning.

Down to their last out, Peoria had the game-tying run on third base in the ninth inning. However, Miguel Castro fanned Peoria’s last batter to earn his 10th save of the season.

The TinCaps wrap up their series with Peoria on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 3:05 p.m.
