FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – School is back in session, and Bishop Dwenger girls volleyball is setting a strong foundation for the season.

The Saints are off to a 3-1 start, including wins against perennial powers Bellmont and Angola on back-to-back nights. Coming off a pair of convincing wins, we’re proud to present Bishop Dwenger girls volleyball as your Optimum Performance Sports Team of the Week!

Bishop Dwenger is settling in with first-year head coach Allison Schultz, who moved to Fort Wayne earlier this year. The Saints feature a good mix of seniors and underclassmen on this year’s team. Jillian Tippmann leads the Saints with 54 kills this season, along with a team-high 12 blocks. Junior Lindsay Snyder has 50 kills and a team-high 51 digs. Meanwhile, sophomore setter Braelynn Hodgman is orchestrating the offense with 144 assists in four matches.

Meanwhile, four other seniors are leading this year’s team with Emmalyn Boger, Zoey Kingsolver, Madison Sordelet and Ari Christman.

Bishop Dwenger is off this week, but returns to action with a marquee matchup against Homestead on Thursday, Sept. 5.
