Bishop Dwenger girls soccer nips Northrop in key SAC battle

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Bishop Dwenger just earned a huge advantage in the chase for an SAC title in a 2-1 win over Northrop on Thursday.

Freshmen Ella Hein and Lindsey Florian stepped up by scoring a goal apiece in Thursday’s win. Hein knocked in the first goal of the night to give Bishop Dwenger a 1-0 lead. Florian doubled Dwenger’s lead early in the second half.

While Northrop cut the deficit in half with an Alison Diaz goal, the Bruins couldn’t find an equalizer the rest of the match.

Bishop Dwenger (3-0-1) continues SAC play on Tuesday at Concordia, while Northrop visits Snider that same night.
