Grab your passport: Be A Tourist In Your Own Hometown 2024

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Visit Fort Wayne celebrates local tourism on Sunday through inviting residents to enjoy the Summit City free of charge.

Be A Tourist In Your Own Hometown encourages people to celebrate tourism in Fort Wayne. Kristen Guthrie, director of marketing for Visit Fort Wayne, said about 8.8 million people come to the city each year, bringing $995 million dollars to local businesses, hotels and restaurants.

Guthrie said participants can expect to get a backstage look at The Embassy Theater, the chance to travel to the top of the Indiana Michigan Power building among other exclusive sights within the 25 destinations.

Passports created by Visit Fort Wayne are required to enter each destination and can be found online or at select locations. The Visitors Center also hosts a block party with various food trucks.
