MIAMI, Fla. (WANE) – After appearing to earn another shot in the NBA, Snider High School graduate Malik Williams has been waived by the Miami Heat.

The Heat announced Thursday that they have waived the Fort Wayne native, one day after signing Williams. Thursday’s move is likely procedural, which allows Williams to play with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the Heat’s NBA G League affiliate.

The Snider grad reportedly signed an Exhibit 10 contract. An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum salary agreement that isn’t guaranteed. The contract presumably includes an invitation to training camp with the Heat.

A 6-foot-11, 250-pound center, Williams played in seven games with the Raptors late last season, averaging 2.7 points and 5.4 rebounds a game. He played the bulk of last season with the Skyforce.
