Homestead tops Carroll 3-0 in girls soccer showdown

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – In a battle between two ranked teams in the 3A state poll it was 15th-ranked Homestead besting no. 16 Carroll 3-0 in girls soccer Monday night at the Dean Gorsuch Athletic Complex.

Audrey Johnson scored the lone goal of the first half, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead at intermission that they would not relinquish.

Carroll falls to in 6-4-3 with their next match slated for Saturday at Concord.

Homestead improves to 9-2-1 with their next game set for Saturday.
