    Northrop nips Luers in key SAC boys soccer match

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – In a key SAC showdown in boys soccer, 2A no. 2 Bishop Luers battled defending conference champ Northrop at Spuller Stadium on Tuesday night, with the Bruins winning 1-0 to hand the Knights their first loss of the season.

    After a scoreless first half senior Namik Mehic would net the lone goal of the match in the second half.

    Luers falls to 12-1-1 with their next match set for Thursday at the Fort Wayne Sport Club against Concordia. The Knights are 5-1 in SAC play.

    Northrop improves to 7-4-2 overall with their next contest slated for Wednesday at Hancock Field against Canterbury. The Bruins finish SAC play 4-2.
