    Dons looking to build off historic season

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After winning a program-best 23 games last season, the Mastodons are looking to kick things up a notch this season as Maria Marchesano’s team in the practice floor for the first time on Wednesday at the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.

    The Dons, who reached the WNIT Super 16 last season, added Michigan State transfer Lauren Ross & Central Noble grad/University of Dayton transfer Sydney Freeman to their roster in the off-season.

    First Team All-Horizon League selection Amellia Bromenschenkel returns, as does Horizon League All-Freshman team pick Renna Schwieterman, a Jay County High School graduate.

    The Dons will host an exhibition game October 29 against Olivet. They open the regular season with a road game at Big Ten power Purdue on November 6.
