FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Drought conditions have not changed and have worsened in some areas. Parts of northern Allen County and DeKalb Counties including Auburn are now considered to be in the severe drought category.

Potentially drought busting rain is on the way Friday and through the weekend

The area finally got some rain last week but it wasn’t enough. Areas like Fort Wayne are still almost an inch and a half below average according to the latest US Drought Monitor map released September 26. This snapshot includes rainfall data from the middle of the month through September 24.

The rest of our area remains in a moderate drought excluding a small porting of Wabash County and Grant County which includes Marion.
