ANGOLA, Ind. (WANE) – Trine’s winning streak was snapped at two games after a 42-14 loss to Albion College on Saturday.

The Thunder got off to a strong start defensively. Garrett High School grad Trey Richards snatched an interception on Albion’s opening drive. That set up a Trine touchdown from Cole Alexander to Tristan Burrus to give the Thunder a 7-0 lead.

However, Trine’s defense allowed 21 unanswered points, trailing 21-7 midway through the second quarter. The Thunder cut the deficit in half with Alexander’s second touchdown pass to Burrus. Albion then closed the half with three more touchdown drives to take a 42-14 lead to halftime.

With Albion in control of the game in the second half, Trine couldn’t muster any offense over the final 30 minutes of the game.

Trine (2-2, 0-1 MIAA) hits the road to visit Hope College next Saturday.
