TOTW: Bishop Luers Knights Boys Soccer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Soccer sectionals are just around the corner, and Bishop Luers is primed to go on a deep tournament run over the coming weeks.

Last week, the Knights were dubbed SAC champions after taking down Concordia in an overtime thriller. With a 13-1-1 record overall, Bishop Luers is ranked second in the 2A boys soccer coaches poll.

Luers is loaded with firepower in the attacking third. Chris Mejia and Angel Rojas lead the Knights in scoring with nine goals apiece. With a team-high 18 assists, Rojas is also the team leader in points. Meanwhile, Andres and Cristofer Rodriguez have each scored eight goals this season.

Defensively, Adrian Camarena has locked down the net for Bishop Luers. The senior goalkeeper has allowed only 11 goals this season, earning a save percentage of .800.

Bishop Luers wraps up the regular season on Tuesday against West Noble. The Knights then kick off sectional play against Bellmont in the 2A Sectional 20 at Concordia the following week.
