FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After playing 14 seasons in the ECHL – 13 of those in Kalamazoo – forward Justin Taylor will finally experience what its like not to be booed at War Memorial Coliseum, as the veteran forward signed with the Komets this off-season.

Kalamazoo’s all-time leading scorer, the 35-year old Taylor tallied 504 points during his time with the Wings. In total, he’s racked up 544 points in the ECHL, good enough for 21st all-time in ECHL history – and one point better than Komets legend Shawn Szydlowski.

Taylor has also skated in 816 ECHL games, putting him third all-time in the league’s history for games played. He’s only 68 games away from the all-time mark set in Michael Pelech at 884.

According to the Komets, Taylor has played 94 games against Fort Wayne, tallying 75 points (43 goals, 32 assists).

The Komets host Iowa Friday and Saturday for exhibition games, then open the regular season at the Heartlanders on Friday, October 18.
