    FWAHA holds annual high school hockey media day

    FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Fort Wayne Amateur Hockey Association held its annual high school hockey media day Wednesday, October 9 at SportONE/Parkview Icehouse as league play opens Saturday, October 19 here in the Summit City.

    The FWAHA is coming off an unprecedented season that saw all five local high school teams win a championship of some sort.

    Carroll won the Roy Chin & Memorial Cup as the regular season and tournament champs in the city, as the Chargers finished a perfect 17-0-0 in league play. Leo won the 3A state title, the Fort Wayne Vipers won the 2A state crown, Homestead won the class 1A state championship, while the FW Renegades won the JV state championship.

    Saturday, Oct. 19 schedule:
    Leo vs Vipers, 5:10 pm
    Homestead vs Carroll, 7:10 pm
