FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — One person is dead and multiple people are injured after a shooting on the city’s northeast side.

Fort Wayne Police responded to reports of a shooting around 10:30 Saturday night on Manistee Drive, which is near Reed Road between Saint Joe Center Road and Stellhorn Road.

According to police, multiple calls were made about shots being fired in that area and people were fleeing in all directions.

FWPD arrived at the chaotic scene as injured victims began arriving at local hospitals.

The preliminary police investigation revealed the shooting took place at a high school-age party with numerous people attending.

Multiple party-goers were struck, and one was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s currently unknown how many suspects are involved in the shooting.

So far, 11 victims, including the deceased, have been confirmed. It is believed that all other victims are in non-life-threatening conditions.

This shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact FWPD at 260-427-1201, Crime Stoppers, or use the anonymous P3 Tips app.

Mayor Sharon Tucker released a statement Sunday afternoon on the shooting:

My heart is heavy today as we try to process the violence that occurred in our city last night. The FWPD is working tirelessly to learn more about what happened and bring those responsible to justice. The safety and security of our community are vital to help ensure a better future for Fort Wayne. My prayer is that we’ll come together unified as residents and neighbors and not accept this type of behavior.
