As the Fulton County Tax Commissioner's race heats up, candidate Dr. Duvwon Robinson is gaining momentum with his promise to reform the county's tax sale process and make it more equitable for all residents.

Dr. Robinson, a former government official and policy expert, has been vocal about the need for change in the current system, which he believes has been unfair to many low-income and senior citizens. He is proposing a series of reforms to address these issues, including freezing property taxes for senior citizens and automatically enrolling them in homestead exemptions, which would provide a significant reduction in their tax burden.

Dr. Robinson also plans to establish a task force to reach out to legacy residents and provide resources to help them maintain their properties. He believes that this will help to reduce the number of tax delinquencies and foreclosures, which have been a major concern in the community.

The current system, which allows the tax commissioner to sell properties at auction if the owner fails to pay their taxes, has been criticized for being unfair and inhumane. Many residents have lost their homes due to rising property taxes, and Dr. Robinson believes that the system is flawed and needs to be changed.

To address this issue, Dr. Robinson is proposing a more compassionate approach to tax collection. He believes that residents should be given more time to pay their taxes and that the county should provide more resources to help those who are struggling to pay their taxes.

Dr. Robinson's opponents have accused him of being too soft on tax delinquents and of not being tough enough on those who fail to pay their taxes. However, Dr. Robinson believes that his approach is more effective and will ultimately lead to more people paying their taxes on time.

In addition to his plan for reforming the tax sale process, Dr. Robinson has also proposed increasing transparency in the county's tax collection process. He believes that residents have a right to know how their taxes are being used and wants to make sure that all revenues are being used effectively.
