Evacuation Orders Issued as Cougar Creek Fire Grows to 520 Acres in Asotin County
ASOTIN COUNTY - A fire burning in southern Asotin County, in the area of Cougar Creek Road, on the north side of the Grande Ronde River, has now reached 520 acres in size. The Cougar Creek Fire, reported around 7:00 p.m. on Monday, was initially attacked by air resources, which operated throughout Monday evening while daylight permitted. Additional air and ground resources have been requested to assist in containing the fire.
Oregon-based flooring company expanding into Tri-Cities
A family-owned Oregon-based flooring and countertop company plans to open a warehouse and showroom in Kennewick early next year. Paulson’s Floor Coverings, based in Tigard, Oregon, has been renting space in the Tri-Cities and working directly with contractors here for about 1 ½ years, said owner Tyler Paulson. The rental space wasn’t open to the public.

Spokane man allegedly shoots at bar after being kicked out
SPOKANE, Wash. – A Spokane man allegedly urinated in full view of a bar’s windows and proceeded to shoot at the establishment after being kicked out on Sunday. According to the Spokane Police Department, the 22-year-old man was asked to leave a bar on the 1400 block of East Illinois Avenue after getting into an argument. Police claim he then urinated in full view of the bar’s windows just outside, and then shot around three rounds at the bar.
