Warren County supervisors fill EDA vacancy
The Front Royal-Warren County Economic Development Authority board now has enough people to hold meetings and vote. The Board of Supervisors appointed David McDermott to the EDA Board of Directors on Tuesday to serve the remainder of a term ending Feb. 28. McDermott fills one of three vacancies on the seven-member EDA board and his appointment brings the panel to four members -- enough to meet and take official action.
Warren County sheriff makes pitch for training facility
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office renewed its push for a shooting range but faces opposition by neighbors of the proposed site. Sheriff Crystal Cline and Deputy James “Jay” Roy presented a proposal to the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday to set up a training area on county-owned land in Bentonville. Cline’s predecessor, Mark A. Butler, pitched a similar proposal two years ago.
