WARREN (WWJ) -- A jewelry store in Warren was the target of brazen thieves, early Thursday morning — but they didn't get very far with the loot.

Investigators said the suspects broke into the Queen Jewelry Store in a strip center at 14 Mile Rd. and Ryan Rd., triggering the alarm.

As police arrived, the burglars took off and dumped the jewelry all over the parking lot, and behind the store.

WWJ's Charlie Langton reported from the still-active scene, where officers were picking and bagging up the scattered jewelry.

"It was taken after someone smashed through the window of the jewelry store," Langton said. "Now, there's also a motorcycle down there, and there's a lot of jewelry on the ground. And the cops from Warren here are going through it, and trying to figure out exactly how this crime happened."

Police said two suspects were arrested not far from the store, but no information is being released about the suspects at this time.

    The investigation is ongoing.
