WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — A local in-patient dialysis center is expanding to become one of the largest in the state.

Warren Nursing and Rehab held its ribbon cutting Tuesday. The new clinic has been in the works for about six months and will be able to treat 30 patients a day, compared to 20 in its old clinic.

This is only one of the facilities locally that treat people who need dialysis, ventilators and around-the-clock care.

The hope is the expansion will let the clinic treat more people.

“When I see somebody come into my facility on a ventilator, needing dialysis, needing rehab, needing therapy — and I watched them come into the facility on a gurney, and then I watched them walk out the front door — it’s just one of the warm, fuzzy feelings you can get to know that you improve that person’s quality of life,” said administrator Matt Parks.

The old clinic will be converted to house additional ventilators.
