HOWLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – Wednesday is Encino Energy’s annual Vendor Charity Classic. It got started Wednesday morning at Avalon Lakes Golf Course.

Encino Energy is based out of Texas and is the largest oil producer in Ohio.

Each year, the company gets together with its vendors for a two-day event to give back to the communities it serves.

Encino Energy CEO Hardy Murchison said their business is important to the world, and it all starts here.

“If you think about our activity today, with four drilling rigs working, we are the most active oil and gas operator in Appalachia, and each drilling rig invests about a quarter of $1 billion a year, so that’s $1 billion a year just in drilling and completions — that drives employment of our hundreds of employees but also thousands of contractors, service providers like the ones here today,” said Murchison.

Encino Energy and its sponsors will donate more than $100,000 to five local charities.
