WARREN, R.I. (WPRI) — Tizzy K’s is celebrating the grand opening of their second location in Warren on Friday by giving away 1,000 free scoops.
According to a post on the ice cream shop’s Instagram page , they will be kicking off “The Point East Bay” from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The company’s signature ice cream flavors will be available at a walk-up window inside the former convenience store at 747 Main St.
BACKGROUND: New food hub coming to Main Street, bike path in Warren One scoop will be available per person, and once they reach 1,000 scoops, their window will close and “Scoopa-Palooza” is over.
Free samples will be available, with flavors being announced on Friday — there will be at least one gluten-free flavor, but no non-dairy, Tizzy K’s said.
They will not be selling any other sizes until Saturday, when regular ice cream sales begin.
Matthew King, owner of The Box East Bay (formerly the Taco Box), proposed the idea of opening the Point, which will also feature a variant of his business. But instead of large tacos like at his Child Street location, this one will focus on pizzas, sandwiches and salads.
Aside from those two businesses, there will be a rotating array of food trucks.
The Point will also have outdoor seating for up to 30 people, as well as bike racks, a water fountain for people and dogs, and possibly even a stand for quick bike repairs.
