J.C. Penney to permanently close 4 stores
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Department store retailer J.C. Penney will shutter four stores across as many states, Retail Dive has reported. According to an email provided by the company, locations in Alabama, Texas and Maine will close before Sept. 22. The J.C. Penney at the Westfield Annapolis Mall in Annapolis, Maryland, will close in 2025.

Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program are working hard recruiting in the 2026 class, with an Alabama quarterback announcing an offer from the Tigers. 2026 Birmingham, Alabama quarterback Brock Bradley took to social media Thursday to announce that the Tigers have offered him a scholarship. Clemson joins programs such as Texas A&M, West Virginia, Tulane, Memphis, Cincinnati, and more, looking to land the young quarterback. Bradley is a three-star recruit but is on the rise lately. According to 247Sports composite rankings, Bradley is the No. 55 quarterback and No. 597 overall player in the 2026 class. During his sophomore season, Bradley completed 65% of his passes for 2,100 yards with 24 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Another strong season can up his stock. Guin Service, LLC opened a new building in early August, relocating to Irondale from their space in Birmingham. The new building is located at 2880 Crestwood Blvd. The plumbing business is owned by Joseph Braswell and serves the Birmingham metro area. Braswell is the President of the Board of Directors for the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce.
