Northwell Rated New York’s Most Awarded Health System by U.S. News
North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset led the way as New York’s No. 1 hospital, tied with three other health systems for the top honor, and recognized as a national Honor Roll Hospital, U.S. News said. NSUH, which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary, ranked in the top 51 nationally in all 10 specialties it serves, including the two top-performing categories in the health system; The hospital’s orthopedics program ranked seventh in the United States while diabetes/endocrine disorders placed 10th.

Genesee County Cooperative Extension’s 4-H program is going to the dogs this year — and the pigs, chickens, goats, and many other animals, to be fair — Director Jocelyn Sikorski says.Sikorski gave a yearly review to county legislators this week about a program that’s been on the rise. Jamestown Man Arrested on Federal Drug Possession Counts
A Jamestown man is facing federal charges stemming from a street check in the city that took place in April. U.S. Attorney Trini Ross announced Thursday that 34-year-old Craig VanHook was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Jamestown Police Department and the DEA, which was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) operation.
