WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — Rhode Island’s third Shake Shack is set to open next week, 12 News has learned.

The new fast-casual restaurant is slated to open July 16 at 11 a.m., the burger chain announced Tuesday.

The burger chain has taken up residence where the former TGI Fridays used to be off of Centerville Road. The former restaurant, which abruptly closed in February 2020 , has since been torn down and another building was constructed in its place.

The new building has been split in half, with one side covered in Shake Shack’s lime green signage and the other adorned with the logo of a new veterinary clinic.

The Warwick restaurant will be the first Shake Shack in Rhode Island to have a drive-thru.

Shake Shack just started adding drive-thrus to its restaurants last year, and only a dozen or so nationwide have them. The drive-thru itself consists of two lanes that funnel into one pick-up window.

This will be Shake Shack’s third restaurant in Rhode Island. The first opened up on Thayer Street back in March 2019, and the second moved into Garden City Center just last year.

Shake Shack is well-known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard shakes and crispy crinkle cut fries.
