    Bluejays advance to section quarterfinals with 5-2 victory over Red Wing

    The No. 4 seeded Waseca boys tennis team defended its home courts Thursday evening by defeating the No. 5 seeded Red Wing Wingers 5-2 in the first round of the MSHSL Section 1A Team Tournament. With the victory, the Bluejays advance to the quarterfinals held at the Rochester Athletic Club where they will face the No. 1 seeded Winona Cotter at 8 a.m.

    Waseca swept the doubles competitions with each pairing, Oliver Rohwer with Dominic Grunzke, Tanner Hanson with Keenan Collins and Lucas McQuery with Brayden Hoof, earning 2-0 victories. Earning wins in the singles competition were Henry Huttemier and Armaan Bhatti, both by total scores 2-0.

    No. 4 - Armaan Bhatti, Waseca def. McCoy Walter, Red Wing, 2-0 (7-6 (4), 6-1)

    No. 1 - Oliver Rohwer/Dominic Grunzke, Waseca def. Austin Hosfeld/Eli Flattum, Red Wing, 2-0 (7-6 (2), 6-4)
