The Waseca Braves traveled a short way to Owatonna last Wednesday right before the national holiday to play America’s pastime against the Aces.

The Braves were coming off a five-game losing streak and hoped to rebound at the night game on Wednesday. They did just that as they won against the Aces 15-3 in seven innings.

The Braves started their dominance right off the bat as they scored five runs in the first and followed that up with four runs in the second. After a scoreless third, a home run by Chris Glynn put the Braves lead to double digits, leading 10-0 in the fourth.

The third inning was the only inning the Braves couldn’t score in as they scored one in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one in the seventh.

Ryan Hanson started the game for the Braves, and went a scoreless three innings before giving up a run in the fourth.

The three-run sixth inning for the Braves started with a double by Ryan Hanson and Hanson went on to score off of a single by Glynn. Alex Feeney then doubled to left and Glynn and Feeney went on to score in the inning to give the Braves a 14-2 lead.

Trailing 15-3 in the bottom of the ninth, the Aces were unable to score, thus leading to the Braves winning the game in seven innings due to the mercy rule.

The Braves had a total of 16 hits, with the Aces having six. Both teams had one error each, but the Aces had multiple wild pitches in the second inning to give the Braves chances to score.
