Indian Island Winery’s 15th annual grape stomp was again a huge hit, with the Janesville area winery’s popular combo of a competitive grape stomp and a beer tent again proving a hit with area residents.

The grape stomp portion of the event again fully sold out, with a crowd largely composed of local regulars jumping at the chance to compete in pairs and alongside friends, and to win prizes for the most productive and best dressed groups.

With a $30 fee came entrance to the event, participation in the stomp and a t-shirt. Access to the beer tent was much less expensive, with patrons paying just $5 to sample a wide variety of local beers, as well as Indian Island’s signature wines and wine cocktails.

Co-owner Angie Winter noted that the beer garden portion of the event has grown significantly in the last several years, with two new beers added on tap this year. For patrons pleased with what they sampled, alcoholic beverages were available for off-sale purchase as well.
