    Leadership Washburn County accepting 2024-25 applications

    SPOONER — Leadership Washburn County (LWC) is now accepting applications for the 2024-25 program. Deadline to apply is Aug. 1.

    What is Leadership Washburn County?The program began in 2008 with the purpose of developing current and future leaders in our community by offering a high-quality training program emphasizing leadership skills and focusing on current issues facing our region.

    “I always felt that I was aware of what was happening in Washburn County. I can truly say, however, that I did learn at least one new thing each session,” said Warren Tuttle, LWC class of 2024.

    “The experience exceeded my expectations. I did not know what to expect, but the networking and learning how to grow was so valuable. I learned many skills that I will continue to use,” said an LWC class participant from 2024.

    What does the program entail?Program participants meet once a month from October to May to learn leadership skill development and issues facing the region. Participants must attend an overnight leadership retreat and must attend all sessions thereafter. Sessions are a full business day once a month from October until May.

    Program topics include the local economy, government, health care, youth and leadership skills. Sessions are taught by local community and business leaders.

    Who should apply?If you are working in Washburn County and are interested in professional and personal development, you can apply! You do not have to be a manager or a director. Anyone who is interested in leadership development is encouraged to talk to their employer about the program.

    What is the application process?Visit LeadershipWashburnCounty.com to apply online. There is a fee associated and your place of work must approve your application. Your application will be reviewed by the Board of Directors.
