ARLINGTON, V.A. — There's movement on the Rasmus Sandin front for the Washington Capitals, as the Swedish blueliner is en route to D.C.

Per head coach Spencer Carbery, Sandin is officially on his way to the District following complications with his visa, which kept him out of the country and out of the mix for the opening days of Capitals training camp.

The 24-year-old blueliner is expected to suit up when he returns to the area, and though he'll have to make up for lost time, he's expected to play a key role on the team's top-4 this coming season.

Sandin is coming off a bit of a tough season in 2023-24, where he had three goals and 20 assists, along with a plus/minus of minus-13, through 68 games last season. He is looking to come back stronger for this year as he will likely be paired up with Matt Roy.

With Sandin out, Roy will make his preseason debut for the Capitals on Tuesday alongside Martin Fehervary.
