Vernon man arrested on gun and drug charges following traffic stop
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Authorities in Washington County said a Vernon man was arrested on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop. Washington County Sheriff’s Office officials said early Saturday morning, one of their deputies pulled over a vehicle on Spoolmill Road in Vernon. While standing outside of the car, the deputy reportedly smelled narcotics coming from inside it.

A Vernon resident was apprehended on charges related to firearms and narcotics following a traffic stop early this morning. A deputy from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop on Spoolmill Rd. in Vernon. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Jesse Charles Piechowiak, was approached by the deputy who detected the scent of narcotics emanating from the vehicle.

Chipley Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges Following Disturbance
WASHINGTON COUNTY, FL (WDNews) – A Chipley man is facing several felony charges after a disturbance call led to his arrest on Monday evening. Just before 5 p.m. on July 1st, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) responded to a call about a physical disturbance on Pinewood Drive. The incident began as an argument during a car ride and escalated upon arrival at the residence. The victim, who had visible signs of an altercation, called a family member for help after exiting the vehicle. The suspect, 26-year-old Justin Cole Barron, continued to make threats before leaving in a red Ford F-150.

Disturbance leads to multiple felony charges for Chipley resident
A Chipley man was arrested on several felony charges after deputies responded to a disturbance call. Just before 5 p.m., July 1st, Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call requesting assistance after an argument developed into a physical disturbance while traveling back to the residence on Pinewood Dr. The victim stated once arriving back at the residence she exited the vehicle and called a family member about the situation. The subject, 26-year-old, Justin Cole Barron, continued making threats to harm her and left the residence in a red Ford F-150.
John Hawkins arrested on multiple charges in Bonifay arson
The Bureau of Fire, Arson & Explosives, along with Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, has made a second arrest in connection to a February 2023 arson case in Bonifay. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office executed the arrest of John Hawkins, father of Washington County commissioner Tray Hawkins, Tuesday, July 2, on multiple charges, including organized scheme to defraud, two counts of fraud, principle to arson, and giving a false report to law enforcement.
