A Washington County man is accused of trying to entice a minor into sex acts in Iowa City. According to arrest records, 31-year-old Blake Winder of Washington began communicating with a female he believed to be under the age of 16. Winder allegedly stated he wanted to engage in sex acts with the girl, and he reportedly arranged to meet her in Iowa City so they could go to her residence to perform those sex acts.

The latest chapter of the Washington County baseball rivalry will be written on the diamond in Wellman today when the Washington Demons visit the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks at Paul N. Bailey Field. This season, Washington hits .253 as a team with a .372OBP and .288 slug with 91 runs on 132 hits, 77 walks and 132 strikeouts. Four Demons hit .300 or better, paced by Caleb Zieglowsky at .405 with a team best 14 RBI. Luke Beenblossom has a team high 21 hits and Kael Williams leads with 20 runs scored. On the mound, the Washington staff ERA is 6.86 with a .250 opponent average on 129 earned runs, 92 walks and 110Ks. Individually, Nate Edmonds and Conner Leyden each have two wins with a combined 6.10ERA.
