Authorities identify victim of July 3 fatal incident as 27-year-old Minneapolis man. On July 3rd at 9:41 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Afton State Park Beach near the campgrounds for a possible drowning. Witnessed stated a 27-year-old Minneapolis man named Jeremey Andrew Paulson had reportedly been swimming 20-30 foot offshore when witnesses lost sight of the man.

Residents of Washington County are on notice as a sheriff's sale is set to auction off a piece of local real estate to satisfy a court judgment, officials announced Tuesday. The sale, ordered by a certified decree, is the result of a legal finding dated June 3rd, which demands the sale of specified premises for the repayment of debts owed to the plaintiff by the defendants. The auction is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on September 3, at the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Stillwater, Minnesota.

A pair of well-worn Washington County bike trails will be refreshed by this fall as county public works crews address some of the worst-condition routes. The trail along Hwy. 12 between Stillwater and Mahtomedi and the trail along Hwy. 5 north of Hwy. 36 were identified in a study last year as having the worst pavement in the county, said Mike Kline, Washington County public works engineer.
