    Five ways to celebrate the Fourth of July

    Washington County could be staring down triple-degree temperatures this Independence Day, but once the sun goes down, here are some area Fourth of July celebrations to light up the night.

    Star Spangled Celebration at the Sunset Speedway

    Celebrate the Fourth of July with fast cars and fireworks at the Sunset Speedway in Banks. Guests will not only get to see some high speed wheels, but a variety of classic cars as well. Once the races have finished, a fireworks show will follow. Doors open at 4 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online .

    Hillsboro Hops Independence Day Celebration

    Get a head start on the festivities with an American classic at the Hillsboro Hops July 3 game against the Eugene Emeralds. Featuring live music, hot dogs and, of course, baseball, the game starts at 7:05 p.m. at the Hillsboro Ballpark. Those who stick around to the end will be treated to a fireworks display. Tickets can be purchased online .

    4th of July Concert Celebration

    Not feeling fireworks this year? Bring a blanket or a beach chair and check out Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District’s 4th of July Concert Celebration. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park in Beaverton, enjoy a family-friendly afternoon of live music. Country singer Britnee Kellogg will headline the event, and there will also be games and activities for kids. More information can be found on the THPRD website .

    Tigard 4th of July Celebration drone show

    As soon as the sun sets, 200 drones are set to take off above Tigard on Independence Day. The Tigard High School football field will be the best place to see them, and those who arrive when gates open at 6 p.m. will enjoy a variety of games and activities.     Hillsboro Rotary 4th of July Parade

    Kicking off at 10 a.m. on July 4, the Hillsboro Rotary 4th of July Parade will once again promenade through downtown Hillsboro, as it has done almost annually for more than 100 years. Find out more here.
