This weekend in D.C., check out the New Kitchens on the Block food festival, Pride Family Day, Met Fest and more.

1. 😋 Pop-up and eat

Be the first to try new local restaurants (before they even open) at New Kitchens on the Block food festival.

How it works: There are two rounds of the pop-up, one at noon–2pm and the other at 3–5pm. Both are Saturday at the Mess Hall. General admission tickets start at $119 .

By the numbers: Nine chefs and restaurateurs will preview places, including Alex McCoy's Monstera Burrito and Silver and Sons BBQ. Read more here .

2. 🎷 Jazz in the Garden

• Enjoy the first concert series performance of the season with a show by Nathan and the Zydeco Cha Chas 6–8:30pm Friday in the Sculpture Garden. Tickets run on a lottery system .
• Yes, but: There will be limited walk-up passes available first come, first served beginning at 5pm Friday.

3. 🎵 SummerFest

• Headlined by Grammy nominated singer Eric Bellinger, enjoy a day of live performances and DJ sets noon–8pm Sunday at Lerner Town Square in Tysons. Tickets start at $65 .

4. 🌈 Pride Family Day

• Celebrate the start of Pride month with live performances, crafts and a scavenger hunt 11:30am–3pm Saturday at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Free .

5. 🪇 Reggae Fest D.C.

• Dance to soca, Afrobeats, reggae and more 10pm Saturday–3am Sunday at The Howard Theatre. This event is for adults 21+. Tickets start at $25 .

6. 🤖 Met Fest

• Calling all high school and college gamers! D.C.'s biggest gaming and Esports tournament and pro-am is 11am–7pm Saturday at Entertainment & Sports Arena. Tickets are $30 and buy-one-get-one half off .

7. 🛍️ Feel the Lovebuzz, Bee Yourself Pop Up Market

• Shop clothing, art, home goods and more at a vintage market 11am–3pm Saturday at Songbryrd Music House on Penn Street by Union Market. Free.
