WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) – Rapper 50 Cent visited Capitol Hill on Wednesday to advocate for Black entrepreneurs and push for an increase in Black representation in the liquor industry.

50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, met with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.

“My experience here has been great,” 50 Cent said. “I went to talk to them about economic opportunities for everybody, and it’s really exciting. The response I got makes me feel like that there’s bright days ahead of us.”

The rapper was joined by civil rights attorney Ben Crump.

“Mr. Jackson is one of the most successful Black entrepreneurs in America,” Crump said. “We’re here today to talk about how he’s trying to knock down barriers of equal access and equal opportunity to have a seat at the table in all industries.”

50 Cent owns the liquor company Sire Spirits, which has been in an ongoing legal battle with Suntory Global Spirits. In a post on X early Wednesday, 50 Cent said, “I’m off to DC to talk to the Congressional Black Caucus about how Suntory Global has damaged my business.”

Suntory Global has previously denied any wrongdoing.
