    Capitals Re-Sign Häman Aktell, Sutter To One-Year Deals

    ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals took care of more business on Wednesday, re-signing defenseman Hardy Häman Aktell and center Riley Sutter to one-year, two-way deals.

    Häman Aktell's contract pays $775,000 at the NHL level and $350,000 at the AHL level, and Sutter's deal pays $775,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 at the AHL level.

    Both Häman Aktell and Sutter are coming off a Calder Cup Championship with the AHL's Hershey Bears.

    Häman Aktell appeared in six NHL games for the Capitals, picking up one assist before heading to Hershey for his first North American pro season.

    In 55 regular season games with the Bears, he had two goals and nine assists for 11 points, as well as a plus/minus of plus-3. In 17 playoff games, he had nine points and was a plus-5.

    Sutter, meanwhile, thrived as Hershey's fourth-line center. In 66 regular season games with Hershey, he had nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points and was a plus-11. He had one assist in 13 playoff games.
