WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) identified two people involved in a deadly crash after a police chase Tuesday in Southeast.

The car crash happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police from Anne Arundel County saw the white BMW, which had been linked to multiple robberies around Maryland and D.C. Officers chased the car.

The pursuit ended in the 4100 block of Southern Ave. MPD said the driver lost control of the car, which veered right onto the sidewalk before it hit a tree, splitting the car in half.

MPD said Koger was ejected from the BMW and tried to run away before police apprehended him. Koger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Koger is being charged with fugitive from justice.
