    Man hurt in shooting near Nationals Park in Southeast DC

    WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police in D.C. are investigating a shooting that happened near Nationals Park on Saturday evening.

    Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of Half Street SE at about 9:20 p.m., a few hours after a home game at Nationals Park ended.

    There, officers found a man in an alleyway suffering from gunshot wounds.

    He was taken to a hospital while conscious and alert, with injuries that police said were not considered to be life-threatening.

    The 1200 block of Half Street SE, between M and N Streets, was closed as officers investigated.
